Festival Of Russian Art (Kon-on-the Loire)

It's the second time Kon is receiving the festival of Russian Art which will last till the 13th of August. Yet it's just the beginning, but not a bad one.
Groups "Shaitan" & "Serebryanije Struni" are performing. The idea of a Festival on the whole is wonderful and it became possible with the help of town's administration, professional liceum Pierre Chauvenar and Linguistic Center which has been recently opened as part of it.

The final program August 11th - folk dancing classes for children and grown-ups,(liceum Pierre Chauvenar 3p.m - 5p.m); Sunday - 13 th of August 7p.m - Gala concert in the main hall.
The groups will show the best parts of their programs, but the performance of two folklore groups isn't enough for calling the event Festival. The exhibition of art isn't big but rather representative. The number of works by Russian artists Marina Balysh, Rusanna Tarivrdyan, Yelizavetta Vodyanova could've been more in number BUT it was visited by more than 120 people (russians including).
The festival was just given birth but we hope that this initiative will become a really good tradition in future.
